How to Take Care of Yourself in Winter
During the cold season, dryness is a common issue. The lack of moisture in the air during winter makes the skin dry and rough. Additionally, natural skin hydration decreases, further exacerbating dryness. Using soap during baths can also lead to dry skin. To combat this, opt for moisturizing soap and apply a moisturizer immediately after bathing. Avoid using excessively hot water for bathing or washing your face, as it can damage your skin. Instead, use lukewarm water.
Stay Hydrated in Winter
Many people reduce their water intake during winter, which can worsen skin dryness. It’s essential to maintain hydration by drinking plenty of water, preferably lukewarm, to support healthy skin.
Use Moisturizers and Oils
Before stepping out, apply a ceramide-based moisturizer to protect your skin from the cold.
If you have a runny nose, use wet wipes instead of handkerchiefs to prevent irritation.
For dry, flaky skin around the nose, apply coconut oil for relief.
Nighttime Skincare Routine
At night, apply homemade milk cream or coconut oil to nourish and relax your skin. These remedies allow the skin to absorb essential nutrients and improve overnight.
Petroleum jelly (like Vaseline) is also an excellent option for keeping skin soft and hydrated during winter.
For Dry Hands and Feet
If your hands and feet are excessively dry, try using cornflour paste to remove dead skin cells. Apply the paste, leave it for a few minutes, and wash it off with lukewarm water. This will help restore smoothness to your skin.
Lemon for Skin Care
Mix two drops of lemon juice with some water and gently massage your face. Leave it for 5 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. This will improve skin texture and brightness.
Additional Tips
Always consult a doctor before trying new creams or skincare products.
Eat plenty of green vegetables and fruits to nourish your skin from within.
If dryness persists or you experience other skin issues, consult a dermatologist for proper treatment.
